Rembrandt Art for Hearts: July 31- August 7, 2014

Starting Hearts presents Art for Hearts, a rare one week display of Rembrandt etchings assembled from one of the world’s largest private collection of Drs. Toby & Morton Mower.

The exhibition features more than 80 original Rembrandt etchings, exploring the artist’s long and prolific career as a printmaker. From approximately 1626 to 1661, Rembrandt executed some 370 prints that demonstrate he was not only a gifted painter and superb draftsman, but also an extremely experimental and talented printmaker.  A complete range of Rembrandt’s creativity will be represented.  Compositions include the mighty and the humble, landscapes and mythological scenes, as well as Bible stories and character studies.
